Tabla, Indian Percussion
Bivakar Choudhury is an brilliant tabla performer with a precise sense of rhythm and beats. He has performed extensively in India and overseas in different music concerts and festivals and has conducted many workshop apart from being a regular teacher of Indian Percussion.
A follower of the great maestro Zakir Hussain he is also familiar with other percussion instruments such as Djiembe, Bangla, Khol, Dhak, Tamborin, and string instrument Santoor. He follows four different schools of teaching ( Gharanas ) : Punjab, Farukhabad, Vanaras and Delhi.
Presently based in China as Resident Art Director with Chaiti Arts Foundation in Shanghai. Available for Tabla / percussions classes / workshop and performances all over China.
Bivakar is profoundly interested in: Value education, Media & Entertainment for children & youth. Research on possibilities of integration of cultures and religions, and put in effort to bring people together through music.
Bivakar has been a Music Teacher at Delhi Public School and GD Goenka World School, India as an IB staff Teaching tabla and other percussion music.
