MAX MANDEL
Viola
Violist Max Mandel enjoys a varied and acclaimed career as a chamber musician, soloist, orchestral musician and speaker. He is co-principal viola of The Orchestra of The Age of Enlightenment. He is also a member of the trailblazing ensemble FLUX Quartet. He has appeared as guest principal viola with The Chamber Orchestra of Europe, The Australian Chamber Orchestra, The Scottish Chamber Orchestra, The Academy of Ancient Music, The Canadian Opera Company Orchestra, Camerata Bern, and the Handel & Haydn Society, among others. His most recent record with FLUX Quartet is Michael Hersch: Images From A Closed Ward. Max's newest venture is a lecture series, Chamber Talk. He is a member of the music education outreach group ClassNotes and also teaches chamber music at Le Domaine Forget summer festival in Quebec. Born and raised in Toronto, he divides his time between New York and London.
